From seeing them on Little Mix ‘The Search’, I knew that Since September had the potential to become something amazing. However, I only had an inkling about what I was in for when I saw them opening for Little Mix in Leeds last night (30th April 2022).

Since September came together on ‘The Search’ - a show Little Mix created to put together the perfect band to join them on their Confetti Tour, which was meant to take place in 2021 but was postponed due to the COVID pandemic. The band’s made up of Matthew Nolan, Harry Holes, Patrick Ralphson and Jacob Fowler. Their time on the show involved covers of artists such as Harry Styles and 5 Seconds of Summer – and a motivational Zoom call with McFly.

On stage last night, Since September gave an energetic performance and captivating the audience from the offset. They played original songs such as 11:11 and Let You Go and covered Drag Me Down (One Direction), Baby/Stay (Justin Bieber) and a jaw-dropping cover of Kiwi (Harry Styles). Between each song, the band engaged with the crowd, showing their true personalities and gratitude for the opportunity that was given to them. Their guitarist, Patrick, gave a moment to talk about what being in Leeds meant for him as he was close to home – and called out his friends that had come to visit him from Skipton. The excitement was apparent from his energy through the set – from diving off the drum stand to breaking his guitar string to the jaw-dropping moment where he and bassist Harry knee-slid towards each other in Kiwi.

Incredible musicianship and even better showmanship. I look forward to hearing what Since September release in the future and hopefully will see them again on their October tour. You can find one of their singles 11:11 below:
