The Return of WNSDY AT 7

A new era of WNSDY AT 7 has emerged, and I can’t apologise enough for leaving it so long before writing about them.

The band that dominated my site for the last couple of years, I feared would be a short-but-sweet thrill as they called it quits last year. However, they returned in May better than ever with their release of Honeymoon.

Fading in, it introduced us to the new, cleaned up sound of WNSDY AT 7. It shows the bands transition from 00s Pop Punk, to early 2010s, then again, I'd be lying if I said it didn't feel like a Busted track. What I particularly like about Honeymoon is the chorus - “She doesn’t do love songs anymore/You can keep Bublé at the door”. It’s fun, it’s cheeky – and just scratching the surface of what they have to offer!

T.A.L.K came next, released in June, and continued the old-school fun that comes with the genre. A song to dance to, that takes me back to my teen years.

Although, Nightdrive is a definitive track. Released in July, I’m still late to the party – but better late than never! It’s got catchy lyrics, dance-able beats and feels like summer. Truth be told, it’s reminiscent of old-school 5 Seconds of Summer. It’s got an adolescent enthusiasm for life, optimism and, let’s face it, a little bit of horniness.

In their absence, WNSDY AT 7 figured out who they wanted to be as a band. Their songs seem so much cleaner, and well-produced. The music feels happier, more established, and I’m happy to see them back and thriving.

You can find the songs on Spotify now! And you’ll be able to find WNSDY AT 7 on the “Nothing But Numbers” tour in December, along with x2 Fast.
