See You Again is a love song, but being in denial about how you feel. It captures the excitement and the feeling of needing that person. It follows a story of distance and schedules standing in the way of seeing each other, but staying hopeful that you will see them again.

As described by the band, “it’s a bop”.

WNSDY AT 7 embrace the classic pop punk sound, which we loved growing up. Having influences from the likes of Blink 182 and Simple Plan.

See You Again was released along with a headline show at Hallamshire Hotel, Sheffield, and acts as a perfect follow up for their second single, Perspective.

Perspective is a song about cutting off toxicities. Whether its family screaming ‘you’ll never make it!’ or a manipulative partner, the song is a big SHUT UP to those who prevent you being your true self. It stems from a time when frontman, and main songwriter, Ryan Alexander had come to a crossroad in life and decided to leave his job to truly find himself. Perspective was written by the band, though had Owen Claxton (Top Floor Audioworks) do the finishing touches and polishing it up as he is, according to the band, ‘a genius’.

Wnsdy At 7 divert from their usual fast-paced pop punk sound and embrace a more dynamic song for Perspective. It gives a more hopeful feeling, with a positive outlook despite a negative situation. A new coming of age anthem for the next generation of alternative music fans.

Perspective comes out just three months after their debut Shadows Got Darker.

A fast-paced pop punk hit that caught the attention of classic pop punk fans everywhere due to its resemblance of Blink 182, Yungblud and Simple Plan.

Shadows Got Darker is about getting past the depression of being cheated on and learning to love again, and was received with nothing but love. Not only having positive reviews, but being played across the radio, including BBC Sheffield Upload, which features a short interview with bassist Rob Campbell.

When asked to describe their sound, Joe, Ryan and Rob all agreed that they have familiar sound, that’s energetic and, as Joe put it, “a modern throwback to a lost age”.

Guitarist Tom Marshallsay was present at the interview in spirit – but the rest of the band urge you to wave when you see him on stage.

Wnsdy At 7 are set to release more singles this year. With the release of more singles comes more shows, and they hope to embark on a small tour towards the end of summer. As of right now, you can catch them in Sheffield’s HMV on April 13th, and then catch them in Manchester August 17th for Forever Pop Punk’s Birthday Palooza.

WNSDY AT 7 also urge anyone who’s an independent artist to reach out, as Joe says, “if independent people support each other, there’s more chance we can make an actual name for ourselves.”

Find See You Again on all streaming platforms, and follow WNSDY AT 7 on Facebook, TikTok, Twitter and Instagram under @wnsdyat7.
